Mr. Wendell Randolph Grooms of Dothan passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at his residence. He was 74.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Keeler officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, March 16, 2015. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Shriners.

 

Mr. Grooms was born March 23, 1940. He served his country 20 years in the US Navy and 2 years in the US Army. He has been a Shriner for 15 years. He worked at SAMC for 10 years and was a Master Craftsman and worked in construction in the Dothan Area.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph T. Grooms and Edie Mae Mock Grooms, brother Joe Grooms and a sister Peggy Moore.

 

Survivors include his wife of 52 years Carol Grooms of Dothan, daughters Michelle Rogers (Shawn) of Dothan, Cha-rae Johnson (Dennis) of Dothan, sisters JoAnn Gamble of Webb, Christine Prosel of St. Mary’s, PA, Evelyn Lowrey of Ft. Walton Beach, FL., grandchildren Erica Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Slade Rogers, Drake Rogers, and a great-grandchild Alyanna Rentas.
