Mr. Weyman Benson (Ben) Groover, age 89, a resident of Dothan, died Friday August 14, 2015 at his residence after an extended illness.

 Private family memorial services will be held at a later date with Dr. James B. Sanders III officiating and Kendall Glover directing.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Meals on Wheels, c/o First United Methodist Church, 1380 W. Main Street, Dothan, Al. 36301.

 Mr. Groover was born on August 22, 1925 in Plainville, Ga. the son of Goldy Daniel Groover and Leila Arminda Cooley Groover.  He moved to Dothan from Tampa, Florida in 1967.  Mr. Groover worked as manager of Montgomery Ward for 25 years, co-owner of SaBEN Appliance and owner of BNJ Appliance in Dothan.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a 1949 Graduate of the University of Georgia with a Business Administration degree. Mr. Groover was a U.S. Navy Veteran(Quartermaster 1^st Class) of WWII.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, June Groover

 Survivors include: two daughters, Holly Groover, Dothan; Merry Groover Brown (Shaun), Chattanooga, Tn.; two sons, Jeff Groover (Dawn), Dothan; Clint Groover (Kandy), Dothan; 7 grandchildren, Ashley Brown, Shaun Ryan Carter, Nicholas Brown, Logan Groover, Lauren Groover, Avery Groover and Colin Groover; 2 great-grandchildren, Abigail Brown and Madison Carter.

 Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
