Mr. William “Bill” Parker, of Dothan passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Hartford Health Care. He was 88.


 


Born August 5, 1927 in Houston County to the late W. J. and Geraldine Register Parker, Bill was a member of Taylor United Methodist Church. He served his country in the Merchant Marines and worked as a livestock dealer from 1958 until 1983. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered as a humble man who loved helping people.


 


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Parker, Joe Parker, and Jack Parker.


 


Survivors include his daughters, Susan (John) Belcher and Ann Parker; his son, Billy (Yolanda) Parker; his sister, Jean Shute; his grandchildren, Amanda Smitherman, Kara (Drew) Danner, Torey (Justin) Eaves, and Will (Blair) Parker; his great-grandchildren, Henderson Smitherman, Drew Parker Danner, Anna Kate Ryan Danner, Michael Jude Danner, Brody Hayes Eaves, Lily Bryan Eaves, and Miles Henry Eaves; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, March 5, 2016 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Selma Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


 


The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2 PM, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the funeral home.
