Mr. William (Bill) Phillips, age 80, died September 2, 2015 after a long illness.


 


Born May 13, 1935 in Coshocton County, Ohio to the late Ed and Mae Cly Phillips, Bill joined the U. S. Air Force in 1952 and served in the Korean War. After leaving the military, he worked for Hayes International for 20 years and then was self-employed for 12 years. He was loved by everyone who knew him and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.


 


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 4 brother-in-laws, 2 sister-in-laws, and father/mother in laws.


 


He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Pat) Phillips; his sons, Frankie Phillips, Rocky (JoAnn) Phillips, and Scott (Theresa) Phillips; grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) Phillips, Nick (Crystal) Phillips, and Kaylee Phillips; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (June) Phillips and Harland (Mary) Phillips; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


 


Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Byron Register officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM, Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the funeral home.


 


The family will be receiving flowers or contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
