Obituary: Winston “Red” Qualls


 


            Mr. Winston “Red” Qualls of Enterprise passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Enterprise Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was 65. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

            Funeral services will be at 2pm on Monday, December 29, 2014 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Huey Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Enterprise City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, December 28, 2014 from 6 until 8 pm.

            Mr. Qualls was born on January 29, 1949 in Coffee County to the late J.D. and Velma Ruth Brannon Qualls. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Earl Petty, Donald Qualls, Fred Qualls as well as his father-in-law Kenneth Jerkins.  “Red” had many, many friends and his family is truly blessed and grateful for them all. He was a kind and loving man who will always be in our hearts.

            Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Debra Jerkins Qualls; four children: Winston L Qualls (Willie), Dana Qualls (Diana), Tricia Long (Bo), Kennedie Qualls;  Seven grandchildren: Christopher, Jacob, Dustin, Kristina Qualls, Clayton, Courtney, Chelsea (Richard) Long; five great-grandchildren; his loving brothers: Winford “Runt”, Tommy, Terry; mother-in-law, Doris Jerkins; sisters-in-law, Patricia (Wayland), Martie, Sheila, Teresa (Mike), Rachel (Ricky), and brother-in-law Kenny. 

            “Red” had many nieces and nephews and loved them all, with a special thanks to Jason Qualls, Jennifer Sheffield, Tracy Mock, Bradley Qualls.  Red’s family would like to say a special thanks to the Wendell Marler family, Doc Smith family, David Hutto family, Mike and Ricky.
