Mrs. Alendia G. “Linda” Brown of Geneva, Alabama passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013.  She was 68.

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m., Saturday, April 20, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Gene Hauser officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. and continue until service time.

Linda was born January 12, 1945, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late James Allen and Mary Will Miller Lindsey.  She was a 1963 graduate of Geneva High School.  After several years of service she retired from James A. Mulkey Elementary School as a teacher’s aide.  She thoroughly enjoyed her work and dearly loved the children at Mulkey.  Linda was a very loving and beloved wife, mother and grandmother.  She had the soul of a mother and “God Loved” everyone, even if she was unhappy with them.  Whether your path crossed with her briefly or longer, your life was irrevocably blessed for having known her.

In addition to her parents, a brother, Ed Lindsey, mother-in-law, Myrl Brown, and a niece, Zann Mitchell, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Russell Brown, Geneva; one son, Stephen Russell Brown (Joette), Jasper, AL; one daughter, Leigh Brown Foster (Brad), Auburn, AL; four grandchildren: Olivia and Brooks Foster, Kelley Brooke and Simms Brown; one sister, Vickey Lindsey; sister-in-law, Shay Lindsey, both of Geneva; brother-in-law, Rodney Brown (Kay) Pensacola, FL; nephews: David and Brad Weeks, John Lindsey, Josh and Zach Brown; other extended family and friends.
