Mrs. Barbara Kay White Parrish of Dothan passed away Friday, September 27, 2013, at Flowers Hospital. She was 60.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, September 30, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Pearson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Monday, September 30, 2013, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Susan B. Coleman Breast Cancer Foundation.
Mrs. Parrish was a former member of Lafayette Street United Methodist Church and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham, AL. She worked at both Flowers Hospital and Southeast Alabama Medical Center where she was head Nurse in Recovery Room and Outpatient Surgery. She graduated as Suma Cum Laude from Wallace Nursing School. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and sister.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ann White.
Survivors include her husband, Jon Parrish of Dothan; father, Richard White of Dothan; daughter, Shannon Clark and her husband, Scott of Birmingham; sister, Judy Detamore and her husband, Rip of Pechtree City, GA; brother, Ronald White and his wife, Debbie of Dothan; grandchildren, Annsleigh, Brennan, brothers-in-law, Raymond Parrish of Sacramento, CA; David Parrish and his wife, Nancy of Tiera Verde, FL; sister-in-law, Irene Parrish of Utah; and many nieces and nephews.
