Mrs. Barbara Ruth Anderson of Chancellor, Alabama passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015.  She was 85.


A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Father Maher officiating.  Burial will follow in the Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Enterprise.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, February 17, 2015, from 6 until 8 p.m.


The family asked that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to The Disabled Veterans, The American Heart Association or The American Cancer Society.


Mrs. Anderson was born August 21, 1929, in Holmes County, Florida to the late James J. and Florrie R. O’Quinn Thomas. She loved Atlanta Braves Baseball.  She enjoyed reading and had the pleasure of traveling to all the placed she had read about.  Mrs. Anderson was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a loving mother and grandmother.


In addition to her parents, her husband, Robert W. Anderson, and a sister, Lynda Martin preceded her in death.


Survivors include two daughters: Cyndia Reeves of Geneva and Christa (Jeff) Sheler of Chancellor; four grandchildren: Scott (Traci) Reeves, Angelique (Ray) Jones, Robert Piispanen, and Rebekah Sheler; three great-grandchildren: Caitlin, Harrison, and Bailey Reeves; one brother, Truett (Gwyn) Thomas of Defuniak Springs, FL; special niece, Angie Brunson; special friend, Bob Hall; other extended family and friends.
