Betty Adams, a resident of Cottonwood, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the home of a son surrounded by family. She was 79.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Cottonwood with Reverend John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Free Will Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 PM until 8 PM Friday, July 24, 2015 at Mrs. Adams’ home, 23 Todd Street, Cottonwood, AL 36320.

 

Mrs. Adams was born March 17, 1936 to the late Albert Odell and Bessie E. Sellers Tindell. She moved to East Point, Florida in the 70’s and returned to Cottonwood in 1995 where she lived the remainder of her life. Mrs. Adams was of the Holiness faith and enjoyed working in her flower beds.

 

Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Cleveland Adams; infant brother; two grandsons, Brian Spears, Jake Hickman and a daughter in law, Ann Adams.

 

Survivors include three sons, Cleveland Odell Adams, Dothan, Henry Franklin Adams, George Robert Adams (Bonnie); two daughters, Charlotte McCall and Brenda Sanders, all of Cottonwood; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Henry Tindell (Janice), East Point, Florida.
