Mrs. Betty Ruth Taylor Calhoun of Dothan passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at her residence. She was 76.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Selma Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Monday, April 8, 2013, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

 

Mrs. Calhoun was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a very hard worker.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Taylor and Quillie Martin Taylor, her husband, William (Bill) Calhoun, one sister, Geraldine Bowens, two brothers, Donaldson Taylor, Lurie Taylor, and one grandson, Tray Calhoun.

 

Survivors include daughters, Kathy Curry and her husband, Paul of Dothan; Brenda Hartford and fiancé, Joseph Gahn of Metairie, LA; sons, Thomas Calhoun and his wife, Ashley of Dothan; Stephen Calhoun of Dothan; brothers, Robert Taylor and his wife, Betty of Ashford; Bobby Taylor and his wife, Jo of Dothan; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
