Mrs. Bobbie Jean Edwards Davis, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, 2014 at SHC of North Florida in Graceville surrounded by her children as she entered Heaven’s Gates after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was 80.


 


Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Reverend Bill Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Hodgesville Baptist Church with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the; Alzheimer’s Foundation of Dothan or Hodgesville Baptist Church Building Fund.


 


Mrs. Bobbie as her friends knew her, was born on May 14, 1933 in Houston County and lived her entire life here. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Bobbie enjoyed cooking and baking and taking care of her family as well as babysitting in prior years. She was a member of Hodgesville Baptist Church and faithfully worked in the nursery and vacation bible school prior to her illness.


 


Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Edsel “Dee” Davis; her parents, Everett and Gracie Martin Edwards; sister, Betty Enfinger Mathis, brother, Freddy Armstrong.


 


Survivors include her children, Sharon Bates, Donald Davis, Michael and Margaret Davis, all of Dothan; four grandchildren, Brandi (Todd) Phillips, Stacy Davis, Matthew Davis and Maegan Davis; three great grandchildren, Parker Davis, Spencer Phillips and Kamden Davis.


 


The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at SHC of North Florida and Covenant Hospice of Marianna.
