Carolyn (Cook) Fisher, age 82, passed away on October 7, 2016. She was born on August 14, 1934 in Dothan, Alabama.


She is survived by her sisters Marilyn Schulman and Glenda Walker (husband Gordon) and her brothers Bowden Cook (wife Billie), Collins Cook (wife Mable) and Eston Cook (wife Bobbie) and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her children whom she loved very much, son Jeffrey Fisher and daughter Melanie Tighe.


She is predeceased by her sister Jewel Branstetter, her brothers James Winston Cook (wife Tinye) and Junior Cook (wife Mary Edna), and parents Jesse Jefferson and Monester (Fortune) Cook.


Carolyn was a beautiful woman and was first runner up in the 1952 Miss Dothan Pageant. She graduated from Dothan High School in 1952 and worked as a Dental Assistant at Fort Rucker. She married and moved to New England but she never lost her love of the South. After her children were grown she retired to her home town of Dothan, AL.


A private family service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Carter Center Mental Health Program, One Copenhill, 453 Freedom Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30307
