Mrs. Christine Morris Tidwell of Geneva, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 23, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.  She was 79.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Gary Taylor and Rev. Edd Barley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 6 until 8 p.m.  At all other times the family will be at the home of a brother, Charles Morris, 406 N. Iris Street, Geneva.


Mrs. Tidwell was born June 16, 1935, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Alford and Vassie Ethel Adams Morris.  With more than 15 years of service, she retired from Van Heusen Shirt Factory where she worked in the laundry department.  Every Sunday she enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and spending time with them. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  For a number of years she was a member of East Pittman Freewill Baptist Church and she thoroughly enjoyed gospel music, especially all the Gaither Homecomings.


In addition to her parents, a grandson, Frankie Carpenter, three sisters, Louise Holland, Alene Everett and Geraldine Caraway, as well as four brothers, Noah, Dewitt, Eugene and Paul Morris, all preceded her in death.


Survivors include her husband, Willard Tidwell of Geneva, AL; four daughters: Janice (Rodney) Watford of Ozark, AL, Peggy (Billy) Enfinger, Brenda (Rusty) Banks and Lisa Adams all of Geneva, AL; four sons: John David Mills of Hartford, AL, Jerry Allen Mills of Panama City, FL, Bobby Wayne (Sandra) Mills of Geneva, AL and Tommy Earl Mills of Tampa, FL; four step children: Revion Tidwell of Hopkinsville, KY, Dianna (Deryle) Smith of Summerdale, AL, Kay Weeks of Chipley, FL, Rev. James “Buck” (Tonya) Tidwell of Clarkesville, TN; two brothers: Junior (Annie Jim) Morris and Charles (Emma Jean) Morris all of Geneva, AL; sister-in-law, Lillian Morris of Phenix City, AL; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
