Mrs. Deane Walterscheid of Dothan passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015. She was 71.

 

Born February 2, 1944 in Dozier, Alabama to the late James Walter and Ruby Watkins Barrington, Mrs. Walterscheid was a retired real estate broker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Rock of the Foothills Lutheran Church in LaVerne, CA.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harlin Barrington.

 

Survivors include her husband, Larry Walterscheid; her daughter, Dawn Kathleen Reid; her sons, Leonard Lee Smith (Randy Lockett) and Todd Wayne (Starla) Smith; her sisters, Jimmie Ulrich, Glenda Cauthen, and Jean (Joseph) Brown; her brother, Walter Haynes (Brenda) Barrington; a sister-in-law, Lucia Barrington; her grandchildren, Garrett Treadwell, Madison Treadwell, James B. Smith, Macey N. Smith, Jamie L. Smith, and Jodi L. Smith.

 

Memorial services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scotty Hatcher officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kiwanis International Foundation or the American Kidney Foundation.
