Obituary:  Mrs. Demaris Tindell


 


Mrs. Demaris Tindell of Hartford went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 20, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 73. 


Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Elder Clayton Nowell and Elder Harrison Spitler officiating. Burial will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery. 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. 


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Demaris’ memory with your contribution to Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church, P.O. Box 401 Headland, AL 36345. 


Mrs. Tindell was born November 17, 1942 in Houston County to the late Chester H. and Mamie J. Collins Reeves. Demaris faithfully followed the example of Christ; humbly serving her family, her church and her community. She was a loving wife, caring mother and adoring grandmother whose influence will forever remain in their hearts. 


In addition to her parents, daughter, Debra Lynn Tindell Pippin; son, Stephen Kyle Tindell and brother, Louis Reeves preceded her in death.


 Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Dan Tindell; son, Stanley Tindell and his wife, Misty; grandchildren: Shelby Tindell, Danielle Tindell, Jonathan Pippin and his wife Ashley, Rusty Flick, Alexis Peters and Tyler Gay; son-in-law, Steven Pippin; two sisters: Deloris Bond and her husband Elvin and Darlene Ashe and her husband Jamie; one brother, Aubrey Reeves and his wife Sally; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 


The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Day Springs Hospice for the love and care that was so freely given to Demaris during her illness.
