Mrs. Dorothy Nell Kilpatrick Gilmore of Samson, Alabama passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013.  She was 83.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in the First Baptist Church in Samson with Rev. Sam Totten officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time.


In lieu of flowers the family asked that memorial contributions be made to the Samson First Baptist Church.


Mrs. Gilmore was born September 30, 1929, in Geneva County to the late William Henry and Susie Baker Kilpatrick.  She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.


In addition to her parents a son Stephen Craig Gilmore as well as a sister, Frances Mauldin and her husband Fred preceded her in death.


Survivors include her husband of 63 years, William Sellers Gilmore, Samson; one daughter, Kay Gilmore Carmichael, Enterprise; one son, Hank Gilmore (Lori), Samson; daughter-in-law, Alethea Cassady Gilmore, Birmingham; three grandchildren: Clay Phillips, Chase Gilmore and Lorin Gilmore; two sisters: Helen Ward and Bobbie Stuber (Ray); one brother, Glenn Kilpatrick; other extended family and friends.


The family would like to say a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and their staff for their loving care, and her dear friends who were faithfully by her side.
