Elsie Ross died in her home on July 4, 2016 in Geneva, AL due to multiple health complications.  She was 84.

Mrs. Ross was born on July 18, 1931 in Geneva, AL to her parents, Ballie and Gussie Patterson.  She grew up in Geneva and graduated from Geneva High School.  She married Jimmy Ross in 1952. Mrs. Ross worked 17 years with Phillip Van Heusen last serving as an office clerk.  Mrs. Ross dedicated her remaining time as a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and volunteer worker in her lifelong Church, Westside Methodist of Geneva.

Mrs. Ross is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jimmy Ross; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Peggy Ross of Geneva, AL; grandchildren Misty, (Rich) Bixby of Geneva, Kacie (Dennis) Johnson of Geneva; great grandchildren Ross Bixby, AnaBeth and Myles Johnson of Geneva; one sister, Pat McIntosh of Westville FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Ballie and Gussie Patterson; her brother Harold Patterson; and sisters, Mildred Stevens and Jewel Howell.

Mrs. Ross will be buried with a private grave side ceremony on July 6, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Geneva, with Rev. Gary Miller, a nephew, presiding and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and Susan Rowell for their loving care.  Also a special thanks to friends and neighbors, Jim and Felicia Ezell, Russell and Debbie Johnson, and Billy and Frances Jordan, for their many acts of kindness and attention.
