Ester S. Hickman, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Crowne Healthcare in Eufaula. She was 94.

 

Graveside services for Mrs. Hickman will be held at 11 AM Friday, September 5, 2014 at Gardens of Memory cemetery with Rev. Woody Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 until 10:30 prior to the service.

 

Mrs. Hickman was born October 16, 1919 in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Jim D. and Ella Cutchen Sanders. She retired from Dothan Cigar and loved to read, quilt, crochet and do crosswords puzzles.

 

Mrs. Hickman is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Hickman; sisters, Cora Mae Johnson, Cleona Abercrombie, Eassie Smith, Mavis Stevens, Elise Baxter; brothers, Doyle Sanders, Lamar Sanders and Fred Sanders.

 

Survivors include two sisters, Sara L. Ammons, Dothan, Ruby J. Methvin (John), Eufaula;   brother, Willie Jim Sanders (Daphne), Eufaula; sister in law, Luvenia Sanders, Margaret Sanders and Catherine Sanders, all of Louisville; brother in Law, Earl Baxter, Clio.
