Mrs. Gladys Lucille Thompson, age 87, of Taylor passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015.


 


Born February 10, 1928 in Geneva County to the late Charlie and Eunice Nichols Adams, Mrs. Thompson was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and working with her flowers. She also enjoyed sewing until her later years and was an avid reader.


 


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Thompson; and her brothers Raymond Adams, Ray Adams, Frank Adams, and Wayne Earl Adams.


 


Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Mark) Taverner; her sons, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Thompson, Jerry (Wanda) Thompson, and Dale Thompson; her sisters, Helen Adkins, Eloise Free, and Virginia Bush; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, October 24, 2015 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tom Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, Saturday, October 24, 2015 one hour prior to service.
