Mrs. Hazel Shirah Jackson of Dothan passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at her residence. She was 78.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Taylor Assembly of God Church with Reverend Terry Hayes and Marie Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, August 30, 2015, from 2 to 3 P.M., one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Taylor Assembly of God.

She is preceded in death by her parents C.J. Aplin and Lacy McDaniel Aplin, husbands Charlie T. Shirah and Dennis Jackson, and daughter Kristin Sayne.

Survivors include sons Dannie M. Shirah, Donald E. Shirah and his wife Janice, Bryan K. Shirah and his wife Donna, sisters Betty Thomas, Linda Hussey, Janice Etheridge, brothers Jullian Aplin, Charles Aplin, Max Aplin, James Aplin, grandchildren Karen Scott, Stacey Shirah, Lauren Shirah, Taylor Shirah, and great-grandchildren Hannah Scott, Makayla Scott, Kahlan Sayne and Kade Sayne.
