Helen Hicks, 76, widow of the late Cecil Clifton “Coot” Hicks of Ashford, Alabama, died Friday, April 25, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Shady Grove Congregational Holiness Church with Sister Judy Dyson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Hicks was born December 23, 1937 to the late Roy Lee Hill and Valetta Pearl Newton and was a lifelong resident of Houston County, Alabama. She was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Congregational Holiness Church.

 

Surviving are a daughter, Debra Bowman, Enterprise, Alabama; a son Wayne Hicks, Ashford, Alabama; a brother, Danny Ray Hill, Abbeville, Alabama; a sister, Pat Moseley, Dothan, Alabama; five grandchildren, Michael Hicks, Crystal Blackburn, April Cotton, Jason Herndon and Brandon Hicks; nine great-grandchildren.
