Irene “Mema” Watson continued her journey with the Lord on October 17, 2013. She was a resident of Dothan, Al since 1957. She was 97.

 

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home on October 19, 2013 at 2:00 P.M., with Reverend Greg McKinnon officiating. The family will receive friends for a viewing from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

Mrs. Watson was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed baking and gardening, she was a member of the Dothan Garden Club, a member of the Southside Baptist Church for more than 50 years and an active member in her Sunday School Class Women of the Word.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred S. Watson of 55 years, her parents, one brother and one sister.

 

She was survived by her only son, Danny Watson and wife Judy of Donaldsonville Ga.; four granddaughters, Jennifer Wiebold, husband Michael of Dothan, Al., Sabrina and husband Scott Knight of Slocomb, Al., Tenaya Watson of Las Vegas, NV., Jessica Anderson of Dothan, Al.; grandson, Jeff Ivey of Quitman, GA; six great-grandchildren Brodie, John Michael, Justice, Addison, Carter, Keeton.
