Jannie Smith Monday, 68, of Rehobeth, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Litchfield Park, Arizona.


Graveside Memorial Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 2, 2014 at Madrid City Cemetery with Reverend  Jerry Harden officiating and Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the family residence in Rehobeth.


Jannie was born in Houston County, Alabama a daughter of the late J.P. Smith & Annie Rogers Smith. She was a hairdresser and owned and operated her own shop for many years prior to her retirement.


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of twenty years Gerald Monday; a brother, Eddie Smith and a sister, Cathy Smith Morse.


Surviving are three daughters, Dana Cherry (Paul), Litchfield, AZ, Laurie Walsingham (Edwin), Chipley, FL and Tami Britt (Lanny), Cleveland, GA; a brother, Perry Smith, Rehobeth, AL; grandchildren, Addie Cherry, Aidan Cherry Marx (Trevor), Troy Walsingham (Ashley), Tommy Walsingham, Mathew Marciano, Julia Marciano and Aaron Britt; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.


The family would like to thank Serenity Hospice for their assistance during this difficult time.
