 Obituary: Mrs. Jessie Marie Blount 

Mrs. Jessie Marie Blount of Slocomb passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 at her residence. She was 89.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Chaplain Kathy Stumbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Panther Creek Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. and will continue until service time. 

Mrs. Blount was born September 16, 1923 in Geneva, AL to the late James Robert and Minnie Bell Andrews Smith. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. 

In addition to her parents, husband, James R. Blount; two sons: Ronnie Lamar Blount and Robert Eugene Blount all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include one son, Larry Blount (Norma Kay), Kinsey; two sisters: Grace Enfinger (J.S.) and Nellie Slaughter (Jimmy); two brothers: Edsel Smith (Addie Merle) and J.C. Smith; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 

Mrs. Blount was blessed with the special care of her precious granddaughter, Chelsea Tidwell (Keith) and the love of her six grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
