Mrs. Jimmie Lou Renfroe Knowles, age 87, a resident of Cowarts, died Sunday October 19, 2014 at the SAMC after a brief illness.

 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday October 24, 2014 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend’s Kevin Freeman officiating.  Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.

 The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday.  At other times the family will be at the home of Terry Knowles, 161 Lisa Circle, Cowarts, AL.  Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Cowarts Baptist Church Building Fund, 2855 Jordan Avenue, Cowarts, AL. 36321.

 Mrs. Knowles was born on July 31, 1927 in Houston County the daughter of James Andrew Renfroe and Minnie Lee Newton Renfroe.  She was retired as secretary with Warners of Dothan following 33 years of service.  Mrs. Knowles moved to Dothan in 1958 from Newville and was a graduate of Houston County High School.  She was a member of Kinsey Baptist Church for 56 years and had been a member of Cowarts Baptist Church since 2010.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Hubert Knowles (2002); two sisters, Verna Lassiter and Estelle Crawford; a brother, Chesley Renfroe.

 Survivors include: two son’s, Donald Knowles, Dothan; Terry Knowles (Nancy), Cowarts; special niece, Sarah Johnson, Nashville, TN.; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 Pallbearers will be: Greg Sewell, Daniel Rich, James Jerkins, Cameron Thomley, Sam Moore and Mike Crawford.

 Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
