Mrs. Kate Mendheim Barksdale Meredith, formerly of Dothan, a resident at Signature Healthcare in Graceville passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014. She was 83.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Neil Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P. Monday, January 5, 2015, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.

 

Mrs. Meredith was a member of Grandview Baptist Church. Kate was an active member of her Sunday School Class. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with fail. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, and she lived as she died-humbly.

 

She is preceded in death by her father Thomas Grady Mendheim, mother Doshia Hall Mendheim, brother Herman Mendheim, and sister Ann Dismukes.

 

Survivors include daughter Patty Barksdale Douglas and her husband Luke of Headland; son Mark Meredith of Dothan; grandchildren David Douglas of Denver, CO; Kelli Douglas Hernandez of Denver, CO; Katie Douglas Fuller of Vine Grove, KY; Jonathan Meredith of Dothan; great-grandchildren Lily and Oscar Hernandez of Denver, CO; Keaton and Kyran Fuller of Vine Grove, KY; Grace Chancy of Dothan; and Cade Randle of Vine Grove, KY.
