Obituary:  Mrs. Katherine Morgan Lassiter

 

Mrs. Katherine Morgan Lassiter went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Bonifay Nursing Home.  She was 87. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m on Thursday, February 11, in the New Life Center at New Hinson Baptist Church with Rev. Teddy Ward and Rev. Brian Klobe    officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 10:00 a.m until service time. 

Katherine was born October 15, 1928 in Geneva County to the late David and Sabie Hinson Morgan.  She was a dedicated woman of faith and member of New Hinson Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife and mother  and an adoring grandmother who will be dearly missed.  

In addition to her parents, her husband, Wood D. Lassiter; one son, Jackie Lassiter; one grandson, Greg Lassiter; and one brother, David Morgan Jr. all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include her two grandchildren: Donna Hightower (Alan), Dothan and Mark Lassiter (Amy), Hartford;  five great grandchildren: Jason Hightower, Derek Hightower, Hannah McClendon (Marc), Jake Lassiter and Heather De Faria; two great-great grandchildren: Wesley and Bella McClendon; and other extended family and friends.
