Obituary: Kathryn Bedsole Brewer

Mrs. Kathryn Bedsole Brewer of Samson, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 26, 2014 at her residence. She was 92.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the New Home Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Williams and Rev. Dwayne Delmaine officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 pm and continue until service time.

The family asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her memory to the New Home Baptist Church building fund.

Mrs. Brewer was born May 23, 1922 in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Richard Lewie and Ethel Kate Jones Bedsole. She was a member of the New Home Baptist Church where she served as church clerk/secretary for 26 years. She was retired as a supervisor from Franklin Feurgason in Florala.

In addition to her parents, her husband Jim Brewer, a son: Eddie Brewer, brother: Joel Bedsole sisters: Sarah Early and Grace Richardine Avant all preceded her in death.

Survivors include 2 daughters: Meredith Capshaw and Barbara Fountain both of Geneva, AL, grandson: Scott Fountain, Geneva, AL, 2 great grandchildren: Savannah Tucker and Kimberly Fountain both of Slocomb, AL, special brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Dan and Mavis Brewer, several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to offer a special thanks to her caregiver, Amiee Duran as well as to Gentiva Hospice.
