Mrs. Kathryn Vassie Capps Head, age 84, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday December 19, 2015 at the SAMC after a brief illness.


Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday December 22, 2015 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Kenneth Hale officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery (Hwy. 431 N.) with Glover Funeral Home directing. 


The family will be receiving friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday prior to services.  Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 1051, Dothan, Al. 36302.


Mrs. Head was born on November 20, 1931 in Houston County the daughter of Hinton Alexander Capps and Vassie Lisenby Capps.  She was a homemaker for most of her lifetime, but worked for a brief time as a nurses aid and with Ansell.  Mrs. Head lived in Houston County most of her lifetime but lived in Eufaula, Chipley and Pensacola for short times.  She attended Liberty Free Will Baptist Church and was a past member of the South Lena Baptist Church.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Lamar Head; 2 sisters, Lillie Mercer & Annie Bell Lawrence; a brother, Crawford Capps.


Survivors include: 3 daughters, Cathy Hollon (Fred), Dothan; Debra Head, Andalusia; Rebecca McCord (John), Dothan; 3 sons, Randy Head (Shirley), Kinsey; Marty & Stan Head, both of Dothan;  a sister, Lizzie Mae Harden, Chipley, Fl.; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. 


Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
