Laura Genene Offet, 57, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014.

 

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 in Clearman Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Charlie Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the services.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main Street, Suite 3, Dothan, Alabama 36301-2383 or to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, 1314 Westgate Parkway, Suite 2, Dothan, Alabama 36303.

 

Born in Etowah County, Alabama, Genene was a daughter of the late Henry and Imogene Sims Moore. She was reared in Hokes Bluff, Alabama and was a graduate of Hokes Bluff High School. She was a former member of Hokes Bluff Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, avid outdoors person who loved to search for and collect arrowheads. Genene was a loving wife who loved to spend time with friends and her husband of thirty years camping, in her special place in the woods, along with her two pets, Emma and Rosie.   

 

Surviving are her husband of thirty years, Joel Offet; a brother, Ray (Patsy) Moore, Rainbow City, Alabama; Nephews, Dane (Anna) Moore and Ryan (Spenser) Moore; a niece, Meredith Moore; In Laws, Rodger( Lois) Offet, Tim (Diane) Offet, Sue (Bruce) McKenzie, Ruth (Glenn) Bliss, Sandy (J.T.) Artis, Julie (Kenny) Bearden, along with many other special nieces and nephews; special friends, Judy McLain, Pam Long, Norbert Jaroch and John Luckie; her two very special pets, Emma & Rosie .
