Mrs. Lena Powers of Elba, AL, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Elba.  She was 96.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the Chapel of Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Mart Gray officiating.  Burial will follow in Chalkhead Baptist Church Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, from 5 to 7 PM.

            Mrs. Powers, along with her late husband, Jessie, owned and operated Power’s Oyster Bar in Enterprise.

            Survivors include her 2 daughters, Pat Hudson (Jimmy), Elba, AL, Joan Blazer (Jess), Elba, AL; 2 sons, John Powers (Syble), Enterprise, AL, Billy Dean Powers (Betty), Enterprise, AL; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ree Brown, Enterprise, AL, Nancy Hutto, Daleville, AL.
