Mrs. Lily Edna Lawson of Hwy 2, Westville, Florida went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, February 25, 2015.  She was 79.


Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015, in the Hurricane Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Locke and Rev. Jeff Cain officiating.  Mrs. Lawson will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time.  Burial will follow in the Lawson Family Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, February 27, 2015, from 6 until 8 p.m.


Mrs. Lawson was born August 23, 1935, in Holmes County, Florida to the late A.C. “Lum” and Lily Beulah Powell Weeks.  She enjoyed fishing with her son Johnny, riding motorcycles and dancing.  She was an excellent southern cook and enjoyed sharing with her family and friends, especially her cakes and pies.   Mrs. Edna was a very loving mother and grandmother and was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church.


In addition to her parents, her daughter-in-law, Marrianna Lawson, a sister, Lummie Lue Stafford, as well as five brothers, Drew, Leon, Tom, Hugh and Don Weeks, all preceded her in death.


Survivors include her husband, Holland Lawson; one son, Johnny Lawson; two grandchildren: Shaun Lawson and Falena Lawson; two great-grandchildren: Fashawna Lilyanna Lawson and Colton John Shelton, all of Westville; one brother, A.C. “Pony” Weeks of Samson; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
