Obituary: Mrs. Mable Monk Smith 


                                                                 



 



 Mrs. Mable Monk Smith of Hartford went home to be with her Lord Friday, November 14, 2014 at her home.  She was 70. 



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, at New Post Oak Assembly of God Church with Rev. Clyde Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in the Esto Community Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. Mrs. Mable will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time. 



The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. 



Mable was born July 22, 1944 in Geneva County to the late Alver Morgan and Mable Albena West Monk. She possessed a kind and gentle spirit and her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, caring mother, adoring grandmother and loving sister who will be dearly missed. 



In addition to her parents, her husband of 43 years, O.B. Smith Jr.; three brothers: Marshall Monk, A.L. Monk and Willie Monk and sister, Bonnie Higgins preceded her in death. 



Survivors include one son, Larry Smith and his wife Kyleigh, along with their children: Tyler, J.T. and Tanner all from Hartford; two sisters: Peggy Frary (Roland), Samson and Anita Stafford, Geneva; two brothers: John Monk (Jeanette), Malvern and Jimmy Monk (Annette), Daleville; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 



Mrs. Mable’s nephews will be serving as pallbearers.
