Mrs. Madelyn H. Butler


             Mrs. Madelyn H. Butler of Hartford passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Flowers Hospital.  She was 65.


             Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, at Sardis Church with Rev. Gary Armstrong officiating.  Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 


             The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.


             Mrs. Butler was born on January 29, 1948 in Geneva County, AL to Martha Guilford Hatcher and the late Hartwell Hatcher.  She was a member of Sardis Church and a 1966 graduate of Geneva County High School.


            Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Bennie Joe Butler of Hartford; two daughters:  Melanie Singletary (Mark) of Slocomb and Amanda Simmons of Hartford; four grandchildren:  Blake and Trenton Simmons of Hartford and Marlena and Madison Singletary of Slocomb; her mother:  Martha Hatcher of Hartford;  brothers:  Franklin Hatcher (Ann) and Michael Hatcher (Patty) all of Tallahassee, FL; sister-in-law:  Gwen Bass (Ricky) of Hartford; nieces and nephews:   LaChrissha Culpepper (Roger) of Skipperville, Richie Bass (Rachael) of Dothan, Mitchie Bass (Shannon) of Rehobeth, Katie Hatcher, Todd Hatcher, Andrew Hatcher and Christine Hatcher all of Tallahassee, FL; and other extended family and friends.
