Mrs. Magdalene Lawhorn Spann of Oak Grove Road, Westville, Florida went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was 74.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015, in the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Umberger and Rev. Greg Alford officiating.  Mrs. Spann will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, December 17, 2015, from 6 until 8 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made The American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Spann was born June 2, 1941, in Tippetville, Georgia to the late Johnny Causey and Minnie Ola Russ Lawhorn.  She enjoyed music and for many years she sang with the Way Lighters Quartet.  Mrs. Spann was a very active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and also served as church secretary.  She was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother and was always eager to help anyone in need.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Alfred Andrew Spann, a sister, Grace Lawhorn and two brothers, Amos and James Lawhorn preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters: Donna M. Beck (Ray) of Westville, FL and Lori Thorn (Lewis) of New Harmony Community, FL; two sons: Roy Spann (Reneice) of Defuniak Springs, FL and Bruce Spann (Sandra) of Darlington FL; nine grandchildren;nine great-grandchildren; one brother, David Lawhorn (Hilda) of Ft. Valley, GA; one sister, Betty Lafferty (Lee) of Hawkensville, GA; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
