Mrs. Margaret Irene New Churchwell, passed away Saturday August 13, 2016 at the age of 88.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2016, in the Chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Steve Wegmann officiating.  Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. Monday and continue until service time.

Mrs. Churchwell was born May 6, 1928 in Geneva County, AL to the late Henry Marion and Mary Jane Young New.  She worked at Franklin Ferguson in Florala for 3years and retired from Van Heusen in Geneva after 42 years of services. She was a member of the Maple Ave Baptist Church in Geneva.

 Preceded in death by her parents and ten brothers and sisters.

 Survivors include her husband: Bobby Ray Churchwell of Geneva, Al, one brother: Alcus New (Peggy) of Elba, Al.  Granddaughter: Benita Smith of Elba, Al.  Grandson:  Mike New, Elba, Al.  several nieces, nephews and extended family.
