Margaret “Peggy” Carter Ortman, 73, wife of Fred Ortman, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

 

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 4, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Mark Kocsis and Lay Minister James Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

 

Born in Madison, NJ, Margaret was a daughter of the late Herman and Martha Bobenmeyer Carter. She attended Fairleigh Dickenson University and worked as a bank teller for several years and was a military wife. She was also a homemaker and an active member of TOPS in Dothan as well as an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served a financial secretary for eight years.

 

Margaret was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Carter.

 

Surviving in addition to her husband are, a son & daughter-in-law, Rick (Carol) Ortman, Mendham, NJ; a sister, Katherine Congleton, Wheaton, Maryland; two grandchildren, Fritz Ortman and Charlie Ortman.
