 Mrs. Mary Ann Blackmon Brown


 


Mrs. Mary Ann Blackmon Brown of Malvern passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at her home.  She was 70. 


Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, in Malvern Baptist Church with Rev. Hosea Parker and Rev. Charles Littlefield officiating.  A private burial will follow at a later date in Memory Hill Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.  


Mrs. Blackmon was born on September 3, 1942 in Houston County, AL to the late Jessie and Ella Pitts Scott. 


In addition to her parents, her first husband, Jack Blackmon and five brothers:  Johnny, Willie, James, Edward and Ronnie Scott preceded her in death. 


Survivors include her husband:  James D. Brown of Malvern; one daughter:  Jackie Jones  of Webb; three grandchildren:  Forrest, Stuart and Patrick Jones; two brothers: William Scott of Enterprise and Paul Scott (Patricia) of Dothan; six sisters: Annie Hall (Harvey) of Dothan, Nancy Summers of Slocomb, Louverne Blackmon (Lunie) of Slocomb, Nina Weeks of Abbeville, Bonnie Sykes (Randall) of Dothan and Diane Carver (Rickey) of Enterprise; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends. 


The family would like to thank the staff of Gentevia Hospice for their love and kindness shown to the family during their time of need.
