Mrs. Nadine Simpler of Dothan passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at her residence. She was 88.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Van Gauthe and Larry Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, April 29, 2015, one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will be receiving family and friends at the home of a granddaughter Jay Jay and Ronnie Roland. Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Simpler was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and was active in the church nursery. She was also a member of the Alcazar Shrine Wiregrass Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was known for her amazing cooking and her love for her family. She enjoyed working in her yard especially her flower beds.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years John Simpler, Jr, her parents Neil A. Berryhill and Girdie Berryhill, sister Earline B. Williams, brother Delmas Berryhill, son Johnny Simpler, daughter Marsha Neil Simpler and great-grandson Cole Norris.
Survivors include daughter Linda McDougald, grandchildren Chris (Shawn) Weed, Jay Jay (Ronnie) Roland, Dr. Jeremy Simpler (Jan), great-grandchildren Connor Weed, John Sawyer Parker, Hannah Simpler, Wyatt Simpler, Emilia Simpler, numerous nieces and nephews, and two special friends Lou Waley and Jeanie Culbreth.
The family is very grateful and thankful for a special friend Kathy Harden for all she did.
Pallbearers will be Larry Flippo, Chris Weed, Jeremy Simpler, Ronnie Roland, Roger Simpler and Tommy Simpler.
