Mrs. Opal Corine Davis Owens, age 84, of Midland City, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015.


 


Born October 29, 1930 in Houston County to the late James Edward and Sabie Peters Davis, Mrs. Owens was a member of Magnolia Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed drawing, painting, gardening, and more importantly enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.


 


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Smith.


 


Survivors include her husband, Melvin Wayne Owens; her sons, Charles E. (Mary Ann) Owens, Robert W. (Becky) Owens, and Tony R. (Johnnie) Owens; her sisters, Catherine Burrier and Ruth Burgess; her brother, Jack Davis; her grandchildren, Sonya (Mark) Greene, Melissa (Jeremy) Roach, and Shannon (Michael) Bainbridge; her great-grandchildren, Brooke Greene, Kayla Greene, Declin Greene, Christianna Greene, Manuel Johnson, Gracie Bainbridge, Zachary Roach, and Ethan Roach; numerous other relatives and friends.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from the chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor David Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 27, 2015.
