Mrs. Opal Mae Pruitt Lewis, 74, of Geneva, AL entered into heavenly rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL after a courageous battle with Cancer.


 Funeral services will be held Monday, May 20, 2013 at 2:00p.m. in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Pastor Gary Watson officiating.  Burial will follow in Geneva City Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Monday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.


 Mrs. Lewis was born April 28, 1939 in Webb City, MO to the late George W. Pruitt and Pearl Bryan Mullen Pruitt.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo C. Lewis, Jr. of Kingman, AZ.  Opal worked in restaurants, Christian Book Stores and as a dispatcher at the Port of Galveston, Texas.  She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend to many people.  Opal loved Jesus, people, pets and flowers.  She was a special ray of sunshine to everyone she met.  She will be loved and remembered forever.


 Left behind to cherish her memories are one brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Jennette Steiner of Hood River, OR; one sister, Jo Ann Ewing of Ottawa, KS; seven nephews, Joe Jr., Jim, Gregory, and Geoff Steiner of Eugene, OR, Paul, Dennis, and Chuck Ewing of Ottawa, KS; one niece Sheryl Steiner of Eugene, OR.  She also leaves behind a host of friends.  Opal had one very special, constant friend and neighbor, Catherine A. Stafford.
