Mrs. Solora Sain Ward of Mound Road, Black, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, July 26, 2013.  She was 87.


 


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at the First Baptist Church in Geneva with Rev. Nathan Carroll and Rev. Chris Adams officiating. Mrs. Ward will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time.  Burial will follow in the Esto Community Cemetery in Holmes County with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, July 27, from 6 until 8 p.m.


 


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Geneva First Baptist Church WMU.


 


Mrs. Ward was born October 1, 1925, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Horace Greely and Mary Susan Patterson Sain.  She was a lifelong, faithful member of the Geneva First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and held several other offices in the church, as well as WMU.


 


In addition to her parents, her two husbands: Will Leslie Yeomans and William Edward Ward, as well as four sisters and two brothers; Mary Elizabeth, Edna Mae, Audrey Cecile, Polly, W.P. and Theodore all preceded her in death.


 


Survivors include one daughter, Sylvia Mercer (Richard); one son, Royce Yeomans (Sue), all of Black; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way; other extended family and friends.


 


The family would like to say a special thank you to Mary Watson and Libby Royster for the special care that was given to their mother.
