Theresa “Teri” Averill, 82, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 25, 2014.

 

Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a. m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at St. Columba Catholic Church with Father Patrick Maher officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main Street, Suite 3, Dothan, Alabama 36303 or The Wiregrass Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Dothan, Alabama 36302.

 

Born in Northport, Washington, Teri was a daughter of the late Milo Bushnell and Elizabeth Ann Munroe. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Columba Catholic Church. Teri was an “Earth Angel” who was full of life. She was an extremely devoted mom, who loved to travel the States visiting new and exciting places. Teri always lived by the standard of giving not receiving; she always lent a helping hand to those in need. 

 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Averill was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Averill; a son, Les Averill; a niece, Brigitta Averill and a son-in-law, Joel Cooley.

 

Surviving are two sons, Paul (Vicky) Averill, Lacrosse, WI, and Dean Averill, Bonifay, FL; two daughters, Julie (Tim) Bigham, Dothan, AL, and Gail Cooley, Hanford CA; two sisters, Leona Mellott, Vancover, WA and Betty Wesloski, Hadley; MA; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
