Mrs. Tommie Lean Peterson, formerly of Ashford, passed away on June 14, 2015, in Dickinson, Texas, where she had lived with her daughter and son-in-law since 2008.  She was 96 years old. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015, at the Ward-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Earl Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Pansey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral services on Friday. 

Tommie is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Peterson; her mother, Mattie Bonner; her father, Arlington Bonner; her three brothers, Billy, Earl, and Doyal Bonner; and her sister, Ellen Moore.

Tommie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who spent the majority of her life selflessly caring for her family.  She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Mike) Wyllie, of Dickinson, Texas; her daughter, Carol (Phillip) Creel, of Gladewater, Texas; her daughter, Sue (Tom) Fessel, of Lake Wales, Florida; her daughter, Brenda Lowe, of Ashford; and her son, J.W. (Bobbi) Peterson of Dothan.  Tommie had 12 grandchildren, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank A-Med Home Hospice of Texas City, Texas, and Methodist St. John Hospital of Nassau Bay, Texas for their exemplary care and compassion.
