Ms. Doris Smith of Ashford passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the home of her son.  She was 76.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Scott Fulford and Chaplain Kathy Stumbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Whiterock Church Cemetery in Spring Hill, AL with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Sunday, March 30, 2014, one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will be gathered at the home of Ms. Smith granddaughter, Liza McNeill, 2180 Coot Adams Rd. Ashford, Al. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice or to your favorite charity.

 

Ms. Smith was a member of Wayside Baptist Church. She loved going to the Ashford Senior Citizens Center, taking care of older people and going to yard sales. She loved her family dearly.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, L.B. Sanders and Lena Edwards Sanders, and the father of her children, Dalton Stewart, and two brothers.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Grantham and her husband Jerry of Headland; sons, Steve Stewart of Ashford; Stanley Stewart and his wife, Marie of Ashford; two sisters, grandchildren, Michael Grantham, Amanda Jackson, Liza McNeill, Angella Barnes, Tyler Stewart, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
