Ms. Inez Stringfellow, a resident of Wesley Manor, died peacefully Friday morning at the age of 96.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Memphis Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Tate, Reverend Rick Glenn and Reverend Ernest O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Memphis Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Ward Wilson Funeral Home from 4 PM to 6 PM Saturday March 14, 2015.

Inez was born May 14, 1918, in Guin, Alabama. As a young child, she came to Dothan with her family by covered wagon and resided here the remainder of her life.

She married Jessie Stringfellow on August 21, 1937. Fifty years later, they celebrated their Golden Anniversary just before Jessie’s passing in December 1987.

In 1963, after working as a cosmetologist for thirteen years, Inez and Jessie founded Inez’s Beauti-Lounge. Throughout the years, Inez worked and trained many cosmetologists until her retirement in 2009. Inez’s Styling Salon, renamed in the late 90’s, was Inez’s life, her employees were her family, and the clients were her friends.

Inez loved and treasured her family as well as her church family at Memphis Baptist, where she was a lifelong member. More than all of these, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Lonie Johnson, her husband Jessie  Stringfellow, four brothers and two sisters.
