Loretta Sue Barnes, age 52 and a resident of Midland City went to be with the Lord, November 13, 2014.


 


Born September 8, 1962 in Miami, FL to the late Jimmie E. Barnes and Phyllis Barnes Cheek, Ms. Barnes was a 1981 graduate of Headland High School and later Wallace College. She worked as a lab technician until 2013. She attended New Hope Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, bowling, and arts & crafts.


 


In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her sister, Jill Barnes and both her paternal and maternal grandparents.


 


She is survived by her loving mother, Phyllis Cheek and step-father, James Cheek; her brothers, Jimmy (Tami) Barnes and Chip (Sandy) Gaier; her sister, Pat (Ben) Morrow; her nieces, Jeana (John) Gaier Breuer and Jill Barnes; her nephews, James Barnes and Cody Morrow; and other relatives and friends.


 


Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, November 17, 2014 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Dr. Carl Warden officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the funeral home.


 


Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Thompson, Heath Bond, Joseph Bass, Bill Welch, Dustin Pelham, Blake Watson, Mark White, and Jordan Bass.


 


The family will be accepting flowers.
