Ms. Mamie B. Brown of Motley Lane, Westville, Florida passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013.  She was 88.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Mt. Ida Congregational Methodist Church in Holmes County with Rev. Eddie Eaton officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time.


In lieu of flowers the family asked that memorial contributions be made to the Gideon’s International.


Ms. Brown was born April 23, 1924, in Concord, Texas to the late Russell and Winnie Burdett Ketchey.  For many years she owned and operator Mamie’s Restaurant in Defuniak Springs.  She was a very loving person and she dearly loved and appreciated all her faithful customers at the restaurant.  She was very devoted to her family.


In addition to her parents, her daughter, Linda Motley, a brother, Jerry Ketchey and a sister, Inez Reeves, as well as a great-granddaughter, Anna Miller, all preceded her in death.


Survivors include her son-in-law, Larry Motley; two grandchildren: Jason (Sonya) Motley and Natalie (Cory) Miller, all of Westville, FL; five great-grandchildren: Jonathon and Kyle Owens, Lindy and Ford Motley and Justin Miller; two sisters: Agnes Robinson and family of Huntsville, TX, Willie Fern Wood and family of Buffalo, TX; sister-in-law, Jimmie Ketchey of Seabrook, TX; other extended family and friends.
