MURIEL  CASEY  SINGLETON

 

MARYVILLE, TENNESSEE. . .Muriel Casey Singleton, a resident of Maryville, Tennessee, formerly of Ashford, Alabama, died early Sunday morning, May 26, 2013, in Asbury Place of Maryville. She was 96.

            Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. (C.D.T.) Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in the Old Center United Methodist Church Cemetery, near Newville, with eulogies to be given by Harrison Parrish and a grandson, David Lowe. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, AL 36302.

            Mrs. Singleton was born and reared between Dothan and Wicksburg, daughter of the late Samuel M. Casey and Cora Lee Hughes Casey. She lived in various locations in the United States while her husband served in the U.S. Air Force. Mrs. Singleton also lived in Ashford and Indian Harbour Beach, Florida before moving to Maryville in 2006. She was a member of the Ashford United Methodist Church. Mrs. Singleton was preceded in death by her husband, Anderson Clifton Singleton, and all her sisters and brothers.

            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Annette Singleton Lowe and husband, Edward, Maryville, TN; four grandchildren, Shannon Lowe, Andy Lowe (Lesley), David Lowe (Wendy), and Casey Norris (John); five great-grandchildren, Lauren Adams, Nathaniel and Joshua Lowe, Riley and Kayla Anne Norris; sisters-in-law, Lucy Singleton, Newville; Billie Sue Deese, Webb; and Beth Ellis, Cleveland, TN; a brother-in-law, C. T. Singleton (Marie), Enterprise; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Bill Casey and wife, Martha, Prattville, AL.
