Muzette Williams Chambliss, 85 a resident of Dothan, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014, at her residence following an extended illness.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, April 11, 2014, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joseph Haddan officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Friday, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.

 

The much-loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was born January 25, 1929 in Henry County to Beatrice Roney and John Ed Williams of Newville, AL. She enjoyed going to her niece’s, Barbara Blackmon lake house in Eufaula and playing dominos with her and her sister, Johnie Ruth Adkinson.  Muzette Chambliss was a lifelong member of South Lena Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School director, book-keeper and a member of the choir. She was known for her singing and devotion to God.

 

She is preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Roney Williams, husband, John O. Chambliss, daughter, Rhonda Carol Hardy and sister, Keotrice Peterson.

 

She is survived by her sister Johnie Ruth Adkinson of Taylor, and a daughter and son-in-law, David and Tami Lee of Dothan; daughter, Elise Baracos and son-in-law Don Robinson of Tallahassee, FL, five granddaughters, Kim Polhemus, Biloxi, MS, Tiffany Jay, Tallahassee, FL, Heather Cobb and her husband Jerry Tice of Cowarts, Dylan and Jodie Hargrave of Norfolk, VA, and Sean and Jamie Brewer of Jacksonville, NC, three great-grandchildren, Trevor Ashton Tice, Sebastian Kaid Tice, Cowarts, Haley Jade Hargrave, Norfolk, VA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
